SAEM is looking for 50 energetic, self-starting, responsible, and enthusiastic medical students to work with the SAEM Program Committee at the 2017 Annual Meeting in Orlando, May 16-19, 2017. The Program Committee is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of SAEM’s Annual Meeting. It is comprised of nearly 40 faculty members selected by the President of SAEM from emergency medicine programs all over the country.
Benefits for Medical Student Ambassadors:
- Scholarship for registration fees to the SAEM Annual Meeting and Medical Student Symposium*
- Exposure to current research and educational activities in the field of emergency medicine through participation in lectures and activities
- A faculty advisor from the Program Committee for guidance in future EM pursuits
- Opportunities to form relationships with faculty members, residents and medical students from EM programs around the country
- A personal letter from the Program Committee Chair, sent to your Dean of Student Affairs, acknowledging your contributions
Requirements and Expectations of Medical Student Ambassadors:
- Arrive in time to attend an orientation and property tour on Monday, May 15th at 3:00 pm and stay through the entire conference until 6:00pm on Friday May 19th
- Attend daily Program Committee meetings
- Complete assigned responsibilities (~6 hours daily) such as: o Attend research and didactic sessions o Tweet educational pearls from didactic research and sessions o Encourage participants to complete online evaluations o Assist with AV needs o Facilitate transitions between lectures o Be responsive and flexible to the needs of the Program Committee
