The Academy of Women in Academic Emergency Medicine (AWAEM) is offering two scholarships of $750.00 each to residents to attend SAEM16.
Application deadline: March 1
Selection of the awardees will be made based on demonstrated promise in academia, through evidence of academic achievements and mentorship.
After receiving the Scholarship, awardees will be expected to contribute to AWAEM by:
- Attending the AWAEM luncheon at SAEM16: May 12th, 2016 11:30-1:00pm.
- Writing a short article for the AWAEM Awareness newsletter on either a topic of their choosing or their experiences at the SAEM16 Annual Meeting.
We encourage awardees to attend the following didactic sessions at SAEM16, sponsored by AWAEM:
- May 10th 8:00-12:00: AWAEM Business Meeting & Academy Didactics
- May 10th 1:00-5:00: Faculty Development Workshop – Building Your Brand: Tools to Develop a Successful Career.
- May 11th 3:00-3:50: Hybrid Careers – The What, Where, When and How to
- May 12th 8:00 – 8:50: EXCITE! – Creating Innovations Towards Equity
Applicants should address all letters and supporting documentation noted below to the AWAEM Scholarship Committee by March 1st. All documentation should be sent to Flavia_nobay@urmc.rochester.edu
- Curriculum Vitae
- Personal statement describing how attending SAEM16 would support your academic goals and how you feel that AWAEM could fit into your future academic mission. This should be no longer than 1 page.
- Faculty mentor letter of support
- Letter from the resident’s program director attesting your attendance (including May 12th) at SAEM16 should you be awarded the scholarship.
