ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The Third Annual Northeast Emergency Medicine Interest Group Symposium, to be held on February 20, 2016, serves to bring together the Emergency Medicine Interest Groups (EMIGs) of every allopathic and osteopathic medical school within the northeast United States. In doing so, we hope to achieve several key objectives, including stimulating interest in the field of Emergency Medicine, expanding the knowledge base of students in attendance, providing active learning scenarios, and forging relationships between students of different schools. This year’s theme will be centered around resuscitation in critical care and ED workup of shock.

Simulation Wars:
SIM WARS is an exciting simulation competition in emergency medicine. Medical students work together in teams in a simulated patient scenario to assess the patient and manage their care. A panel of judges review the teamwork and clinical decision-making skills of each team scenario. The goal of SIM WARS is to integrate clinical knowledge and provide hands-on experience in diagnostic and procedural skills. Four teams of four students (16 students total) will be selected to participate in the tournament. Students of all years (MS1 – MS4) are encouraged to participate. Students attending the conference from the same institution can sign up to compete as a team. You can also sign up and be randomly assigned to a team. Please indicate your interest in SIM WARS when you register.
