The International Emergency Medicine Fellowship at North Shore-­LIJ is a comprehensive one or two­‐year fellowship program designed to give emergency medicine physicians the ability to develop training programs internationally. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and may be accepted after the deadline if positions are still available after the no offer date agreed upon by the IEM Fellowship Consortium has passed.


  • Option to complete a Master of Public Health degree during a two‐year fellowship
  • Fellows will have up to half of their time available for funded travel to work on projects, allowing ample time to network, lecture, and conduct research
  • Organize national and international meetings
  • Participate in IEM research and development projects through vast collaborative networks
  • Current projects include developing EM and EMT training programs in India and Mexico
  • Opportunity to work as an attending physician at an academic, tertiary EM department
  • Receive a salary that is among the highest in the country for any international emergency medicine fellowship
